heyday with the IFOCE. Both warriors put on a great performance at the table but they
were no match for the reigning pizza king of Bayridge Brooklyn. In only his third
competitive eating contest he put away a staggering 22.5 slices in 12 minutes.
Menchetti finished second with 20 , Dale Boone got the third spot with 17. Will
Millender who won the inaugural event in 2005 finished with 16. This might have
gotten the attention of IFOCE pizza champ Pat Bertoletti who's personal best is right
around the 23 slice mark but in a 10 minute time frame. Jill Stoler who also competed
in the event was all smiles as she hopped upon the stage dressed as little orphan
annie with a lollipop to boot. Former Pickle champ and radio talk show host Curtis
Sliwa was also in attendance. Sliwa wearing his infamous red beret and bullet proof
vest under his perspiration filled jacket , brought his five year old son along as
Sliwa's expression it appeared quite obvious that his appearance was merely a favor
owed to Borough Prez Marty Markowitz and that eyeballing the crowd for mafia
hitmen took precedence over the pizza contest. Jill Stoler who's facial expressions
during the contest looked as though she was thinking "Forgive me lord for i have
sinned " . Either that or she was doing a great impersonation of Stinky Miernicki as he
was attempting to complete his 12th hot dog. Boone who is no stranger to the
underworld made his last appearance competing for a title in Brooklyn which took
place at the Oceana restaurant in Oct 2002. It was at that very same restaurant that
he mocked a crowd of Ukranian gangsters with his obnoxious tirades while
wrestling the Pelmeni eating title from the hometown favorite Oleg Zhornitzky
